EL OBEID SEPTEMBER 20: The Sudanese Army and the Joint Forces are subjected to fierce drone attacks, striking the headquarters of the 5th Division. Two martyrs and others injured in Al-Obeid city after it came under attack by a large number of suicide drones launched by the UAE supported Rapid Support Forces terrorist-organisation from midnight until now.
Four drones reportedly targeted the Sudanese army’s Fifth Infantry Division headquarters in the city.
The Sudan Doctors Network said in a statement that the RSF targeted several neighborhoods in El-Obeid, the capital of North Kordofan state, with guided drones from dawn until midday, causing civilian casualties and damage to property. The Sudan Doctors Network confirms in the same statement that two people died and twenty others injured.
This escalation coincides with a major ground operation being conducted by the army and its allied forces across several fronts in the Kordofan region. Government forces are advancing in the northern and southern parts of the region.
Sudanese authorities and rights groups have accused the RSF of targeting civilian facilities, allegations the terrorist group generally does not address directly while saying it works “to protect civilians.”
