Robert Nesta Marley OM (6 February 1945 – 11 May 1981) was a Jamaican singer, songwriter, and guitarist. Considered one of the pioneers of reggae, he fused elements of reggae, ska and rocksteady and was renowned for his distinctive vocal and songwriting style. I chose this song because Bob Marley is synonymous with reggae. You can’t talk about reggae without mentioning Bob Marley. He perhaps had many other songs that represent him better.
But this song suits my hero best (and that’s why I really chose the song). A little but brave and cute 7 year old girl. Let’s call her Miss B. Miss B has spent most of her life growing up during war. She has experienced things that no one should have to experience. Despite that, she has been a great support and source of joy for her mother. She is mostly a happy little girl, but she doesn’t lack temperament and that’s a good thing. She is very wise and curious – it reflects her high intelligence and empathy. Empathy is what distinguishes her most.
A story that illustrates this is that her mother had bought her new clothes for a celebration. When her mother came home from work one day, the clothes were gone. Miss B explained: “I gave the clothes away to a poor girl. She needed them much better”.
Miss B, if anyone, needs and deserves three little birds on the doorstep singing that everything will be fine every single morning as she wakes up.
