Dolly Parton has died, her family announced on Facebook.She is considered one of country music’s greatest artists of all time, with over 160 million albums sold. Dolly Parton was 80 years old.
NASHVILLE AUGUST 25: The artist had been struggling with health issues for some time. Late last year, she canceled six scheduled shows at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. “My immune system and digestive system have been completely out of balance for the past few years,” Dolly Parton later explained in a video.
Dolly Parton’s husband Carl Dean passed away in March 2025. Her health deteriorated in connection with it. They became a couple in 1964 and married two years later.
At Dolly Parton’s request, a small, private funeral service will be held for immediate family, her Facebook page said. Fans and friends are encouraged to pay their respects on social media.
