PARIS MAY 2025: Doumbia Moussa Fakoly, born June 23 1968, better known by his stage name Tiken Jah Fakoly, is an Ivorian reggae singer and songwriter. The 850 singers of the Grand Choral des Nuits de Champagne 2024 are gathered around Tiken Jah Fakoly to sing and dance.

Each year, the Nuits de Champagne offers audiences in Troyes, the Aube region, and the Champagne and Burgundy regions a journey into the artistic world and repertoire of a singer-songwriter. The artistic program, developed as a carte blanche, illustrates the essential influences, trends, and preferences of the guest artist. As an opening, festival-goers gather to sing in unison the singer-songwriter’s main refrains, accompanied by the 850 high school singers of the Aube choir. Tiken Jah Fakoly performed the song “Plus rien ne m’étonne” (Nothing astonishes me anymore).

He discovered reggae at an early age, assembling his first group, Djelys, in 1987. He became well-known at a regional level, but later ascended to national recognition

Concerned by the social and political evolution of his country, it was not long before Tiken Jah was writing incisive works on the political environment in Côte d’Ivoire.
