The Israeli military has denied that soldiers were ordered to fire at unarmed Palestinians waiting for humanitarian aid.
– “It is a killing field,” a soldier tells the newspaper. According to the sources, soldiers are ordered to disperse or drive away crowds, even though the people pose no threat.
According to the Haaretz report, which quoted unnamed Israeli soldiers, troops were told to fire at the crowds of Palestinians and use unnecessary lethal force against people who appeared to pose no threat.
Israel’s Military Advocate General has ordered an investigation into possible war crimes over allegations that Israeli forces deliberately fired at Palestinian civilians near Gaza aid distribution sites, Haaretz newspaper reported on Friday.
In a statement late on Friday, a GHF spokesperson said there had been no incidents or fatalities to date at or in the immediate vicinity of its distribution sites. The statement said the IDF is tasked with providing safe passage for aid-seekers to all humanitarian organizations operating in Gaza, including GHF.
The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) is an American organization, based in Delaware, established in February 2025 to distribute humanitarian aid during the ongoing Gaza humanitarian crisis.
More than 400 Palestinians have been killed at aid stations in Gaza since the end of May, according to the UN. Israel has said it only fires warning shots at threatening individuals.
