WASHINGTON DC MAY 26: US President Donald Trump has issued a rare rebuke of Vladimir Putin after Russia launched a massive attack on Ukraine over the weekend. Trump said on social media: “Something has happened to him, he’s gone absolutely crazy.”

“I don’t know what’s wrong with him. What the hell happened to him? Right? He’s killing a lot of people. I’m not happy about that,” Trump told reporters at the airport in Morristown, New Jersey, as he prepared to return to Washington.

Trump spoke in reaction to a Russian barrage of 367 drones and missiles at Ukrainian cities overnight on Sunday, including the capital Kyiv, in the largest aerial attack of the war so far, killing at least 12 people and injuring dozens more.

“Always gotten along with him, but he’s sending rockets into cities and killing people, and I don’t like it at all,” Trump said.

Political analyst Joe Siracusa claims despite Donald Trump’s irritation with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, the US President has “washed his hands of the Ukraine war”.

“He’s got other wars to fight – he’s fighting his tariff wars with Europe and he’s fighting his war with Harvard and he’s into politics and his budget,” Mr Siracusa told Sky News Australia.

“I don’t think he’s going to spend too much time bothering Putin.”
