Sudan’s army has recaptured Khartoum airport from the terrorist organisation Rapid Support Forces (RSF), “fully securing it”, according to military sources. with the terrorist organisations forces fleeing across a bridge out of that part of the capital.

“The remnants of the RSF militia are fleeing” across the White Nile at the Jebel Awliya bridge, an army spokesman said. The bridge RSF only crossing out of the area, linking it to its positions west of the city and then to its strongholds in Darfur.

“In the south of the capital, our forces have surrounded the strategic Jebel Awliya area from three directions: north, south and east,” a military source told AFP, adding that “all axes are advancing steadily”.

The Sudanese army had long been on the back foot in a conflict that threatens to partition the country and has caused a humanitarian disaster. But it has recently made gains and has retaken territory in the centre of the country.
